Welcome 4S6ARA !

WHY I FOR ARAL???

Having been a Amateur Radio Operator  since Nov., 2001, in about two years back I (4S6SSP)  was  inspired to join as a founder member of the   newest Amateur Radio Association of Lanka (ARAL). Thus early 2009 together with a handful of resourceful amateur radio operators, less than ten in numbers ventured into  harnessing talent and enthusiasm among us to form our Group to fill in a void in matters concerning amateur radio operators needs and aspirations in our Country. One objective amongst many  had been to persuade and get concurrence/sanctions  from Authorities to relax restrictions/modify regulations in different categories of up-grading radio operators that existed in 4S Land Licensing, also keeping  in line with  changes that are taking place in other Countries surging forward  in conformity to latest developments in radio/telecommunication advancements Worldwide.
Late 2001 International Controlling  Body of Amateur Radio(IARU Administrative Council)  had  realized that to keep a balance on depleting Amateur Radio operators Worldwide need to be arrested fast. It  even did propose/urged Member Countries of IARU to  relax certain restrictions in the structure / classifications & grading in Amateur Radio spectrum.
Thus our success story is the emergence of ARAL to take forward in 4S Land aspirations of radio amateurs to enjoy the hobby with least possible restrictions within the frame work of laws of the land and also giving due relevance  to the Consultation Paper issued late October, 2004 by the TRCSL authorities. Our Group mission is  convincingly recognized by State Authority(TRCSL),also by National Defense/Public Security,Law & Order  Authorities within a short period of ARAL launching. The desired changes sought by ARAL  have been already granted impartially by the Amateur Radio Controlling body of 4S Land, that are very much appreciated by very many.
